Your First Step - Transitional Tandem Jump
We begin our training program with a Tandem jump.  Here you will become familiar with the "sights and sounds" of skydiving.  Your instructor will explain the equipment, and everything about what YOU should do during this important first step.  Your instructor will be wearing the parachute, and you will be securely connected to him.  When the canopy opens, your instructor will give you some basic information about flying and landing the canopy.  You will begin this learning process with the confidence that your instructor is extremely experienced and has received extensive training.

GROUND SCHOOL AND YOUR FIRST AFF JUMP!

Ground School and Category A
This combination includes the Ground School necessary to make your first skydive.  In the class, you will learn about freefall body position, emergency procedures, and canopy control.
This also includes your first skydive.  During the freefall portion of your skydive you will have two instructors assisting you by maintaining a grip on your harness.  You will work on maintaining proper body position in freefall, and you will pull your own ripcord.

AFF - Categories C+
During this next jump or two, you will still have two instructors, but they will release you during the freefall portion of the jump.
In this phase you will learn how to start and stop turns as well as moving forward. Additional canopy skills are also taught.

AFF - Category D
You will jump with only one instructor.  He will hold on to you when you exit the airplane, but then he will release you and you will improve your newly acquired freefall skills.

AFF - Category E
On your final AFF jump, you will exit the plane without your instructor holding on to you. In the phase you will learn how to recover stability in freefall by performing barrel rolls and flips.
