Why SkyDance Skydiving?
Here at SkyDance, we pride ourselves as
being the premiere Skydiving Training Center in Northern
California.
Not only did we start the first
Tandem Skydiving training program on the West Coast, our
training standards have never been compromised.
We are the only school that
refuses to sell a cheap Tandem joy ride. We teach a class before
every Tandem jump which includes how and when to pull the
ripcord. Each student is provided an Altimeter and given an
opportunity to pull the ripcord; because knowledge is power. And
all of our students leave with a sense of accomplishment,
knowledge and power. They also leave with an Instruction manual,
log book, informational DVD and tee shirt, included in the
price.
We also are the only Skydiving School that
owns a new, purpose built Turbine jump plane. This
$1.5 million aircraft (P- 750 XStol) is designed and equipped
specifically for Skydiving. Other, typical jump planes in the
industry are all 30 plus year old planes that have been
converted for skydiving. And our Tandem skydiving equipment is
the newest and safest in the industry. You will never find a
Tandem rig here that is over two years old.
SkyDance is a USPA group member drop zone and
all of our instructors are USPA rated instructors. We
have been in operation since 1987.
Why Skydive?
Because it is
really, really fun!
Skydiving puts all your earthly fears into manageable
perspective. The sensation of freefall is more like flying than
falling. The parachute is quiet and inspiring.
What do I wear?
Comfortable clothing (blue jeans or shorts) and
athletic shoes. We will provide a jumpsuit for you to wear.
How long does the skydive last?
The freefall time depends on your exit altitude.
From 9,000 ft. you'll freefall for about 30 seconds, from 13,000
ft. it's about 60 seconds and from 18,000 ft. it's about 90
seconds. The parachute will be deployed at 5,000 ft., so you'll
have another 4 to 5 minutes before you land.
What happens if the parachute doesn't open?
In the unlikely event that the main parachute
doesn't open properly, there is a reserve parachute in the top
of the container. The reserve parachute is inspected and packed
by a FAA certified parachute rigger. All of our reserve
parachutes are equipped with an AAD (Automatic Activation
Device). Where can I go to get more
